No "I Love You's"!

My youngest child has aquired a very annoying habit of calling me back into his room 5 minutes after I have tucked him in for the night.

Yes, Ethan?
Can you spread my blankets?
I already spread them.

What, Ethan?
Where's my baby jaguar?
He's right next to you...

Go to sleep, Ethan.
You forgot to give me a kiss!
No, I didn't.  GO to sleeeeep.

The list goes on night after night and he knows he's running out of options
so last night he went for one more that he just knew would work...

Ethan!  Be quiet and GO to SLEEP!
Mom, I love you.
No!  Stop calling me and go to sleep!
...No "I love you's"?

I'm a terrible mother.

  1. Haha! I love this. That sounds just like my little guy. I wrote about this last week. He was refusing to go to bed and he said. "Can I tell you something?" "What that you're naughty and don't want to go to bed." "No just that I love you."

I think our children are very sly. And you're a great mother. :)

  2. I remember you reading this post a while back. I thought I commented on it.

But your'e not a bad mom at all!
    You're a fabulous mom!
    Happy Birthday!

    1. I think you posted the comment on FB about telling your kid 'No more love till the sun comes up.' I love that!
